Utah Clean Energy, a non-profit agency published "Clean Energy Economy" a report in which it mentioned that Utah's renewable energy potential is huge. It analyzed the impact of reducing electricity consumption by 20% and using renewable energy sources to make up the 20% need by 2020.
 
According to a renewable energy study completed by Utah's Department of Natural Resources, Utah has many prime locations which are ideal for wind energy development.

Since Utah has one of the fastest growing populations, if it implements the recommendations made by Utah Clean Energy, it can achieve carbon emission reduction while meeting its growing energy needs.
